Talk Bazaar is Alex DeSimine - NYC-based multi-instrumentalist and big pillowy softie. Recent works have included art documentary scores, the performance of an original piece with the 60-person Brooklyn Choir Project, and an LP that straddles the sonic worlds of indie rock, electronica, acid jazz, ambient, and folk. Their upcoming album “( abode )” deals with living in our modern imperialist hellscape - examining the causes and symptoms without sacrificing the bops required to keep joy alive in the face of it all. Beyond their solo work and film composition work, Talk Bazaar is often on- and off-stage supporting the visions of other friends and confidantes, including Hannah Frances, Tasha, Panther Hollow, Ackerman, and Alexia Avina.
Through landscapes of shimmering open tunings, Brooklyn-based songwriter and clarinetist Isabel Shaye weaves sweeping melodies and intricate guitar work. Her writing spins emotional webs, delving into the parts of ourselves and our relationships that remain just beyond our grasp. Her newly released debut album, The Giant Squid, uses the ocean’s most enigmatic creature as a guide for exploring the mystery and power of the human mind.
Doors open at 7:00PM. Tickets required and are available here! All sales go to the artists.
Atmospheric Music Alliance presents: slowroom
David Moore plays ‘Butterfly Gardens’
Friday, March 13
7:00PM
The Atmospheric Music Alliance presents “slowroom,” an hour of slow music discourse, performance, and sharing every second Friday at 27 Cafe.
David Moore plays 'Butterfly Gardens' longform ambient work for pump organ and stretched piano.
The work of composer and pianist David Moore gently defies genre. As leader of the ensemble Bing & Ruth, Moore earned acclaim for his spaciously sublime compositions, and continues to expand his sound through collaboration, experimentation, and intuitive discipline. In addition to four full-length albums and five EPs with Bing & Ruth, Moore has also recently released collaborations with Steve Gunn and Cowboy Sadness. From his earliest works to his newest albums Butterfly Gardens and Graze the Bell, his solo work only deepens the intimate presence central to his art. Merging trance-inducing atmospheres with melodic-driven composition, his entrancing music offers a quiet, clarifying return to our shared humanity.
Doors open at 7:00PM. Tickets are required and available here! All sales go to the artist.
